Talkie NSFW Rules and Talkie+ Pricing

Talkie does not allow NSFW content, and Talkie+ does not change that. Talkie's Community Guidelines prohibit "both explicit sexual content and content with suggestive or implicit sexual undertones", its Terms of Service ban "obscene" and "pornographic" content, and there is no NSFW toggle anywhere in its documents. Talkie+ costs $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year on the US App Store and buys more regenerations and memory, not different rules. If adult roleplay is what you are paying for, pay for a product whose own rules allow it.

We read Talkie's Terms of Service (updated April 23, 2025), its Community Guidelines (last updated January 24, 2025), its Privacy Policy (updated December 9, 2025), the FAQ on talkie-ai.com, the US App Store and Google Play listings, and the Hong Kong listing prospectus of MiniMax, the company that owns Talkie's operator, on October 5, 2026. Every quotation below comes from one of those documents unless we name another source. We sell one of the alternatives mentioned here, so weigh our view accordingly.

Does Talkie allow NSFW?

No. Talkie's rules are stricter than most people assume. The Community Guidelines section on adult content says Talkie prohibits "both explicit sexual content and content with suggestive or implicit sexual undertones", and the examples include "Pornographic or sexually explicit materials in any form" and "Sexually suggestive poses, gestures, or descriptions". That second line matters: a flirty scene that never gets explicit can still break the rules.

The Terms of Service say the same thing in legal language. You may not post content that is "vulgar, obscene, pornographic" among a long list of other things. The FAQ, asked directly, answers that "Pornographic and violent content are prohibited as per our terms of service, but we aim to support a diverse range of character types within safe parameters." Safe parameters is the whole product. Romance is allowed. Sex is not.

Is there a Talkie NSFW toggle or filter setting?

No. We found no NSFW switch, adult mode or content preference in any Talkie document. The FAQ describes "AI technology designed to automatically filter content against regional laws and regulations", and every character's settings "undergo moderation to ensure they meet community standards", so a creator cannot publish a character built to get around the rules either.

The one switch Talkie does have goes the other way. MiniMax's listing prospectus, filed December 31, 2025, describes a Teen Mode that "enforces stricter controls for underage users": when it is activated, the app is unavailable between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and the user cannot search for, create, edit or share characters. Note the wording, "when activated". It is a mode someone turns on, not a check that runs on every account, and some users on Talkie's own forum report turning it on by accident and not finding the way back.

Videos promising a hidden toggle are describing either Teen Mode or a different app. Talkie publishes no instructions for turning its filter off because there is nothing to turn off.

How old do you have to be to use Talkie?

Talkie's own surfaces give three different answers, which is the clearest sign of who the product is built for.

A service open to 14 year olds under its own terms will not be built around explicit adult chat, whatever rating one store gives it. The 18+ on Apple is a store label, not an adult product, and the line under it says content is restricted by the developer.

How much is Talkie+ in the US?

Talkie publishes no pricing page on the web; talkie-ai.com shows "Unlock with Talkie+" and a 50 percent badge without a price. The real US price list is the In-App Purchases block of the iPhone app, which is now called Talkie Lab (the original Talkie: Soulful AI listing no longer exists on the US store). These are the items it lists:

Google Play lists purchases from $0.49 to $199.99 per item, and the prospectus describes four monthly tiers between $1.49 and $29.99 priced by feature set, user level and region. So the price you see can differ from your friend's, and Talkie does not publish what each tier contains. What the prospectus does say Talkie+ buys is "more chat reply regenerations, enhanced chat memory and faster response". Nothing in that list touches content rules.

Read the refund terms before you subscribe. Fees are "non-refundable to the fullest extent permissible under applicable law", refunds "cannot be claimed for any partial-month subscription period", the plan renews "automatically until canceled", and you can cancel "only through the App marketplace where you originally acquired the subscription". The FAQ adds that gem recharges are non-refundable "except in cases of system errors or duplicated transactions".

Does Talkie+ remove the filter?

No. Talkie+ and Talkie+ Pro are sold on memory, regenerations and speed. The Community Guidelines and Terms apply to every account the same way, and no Talkie document mentions a paid content tier. People who subscribe hoping to unlock adult roleplay are paying $9.99 to $24.99 a month for a product whose rules still forbid it.

Can Talkie ban you for NSFW?

Yes. The guidelines say Talkie "may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly disregard these rules" and that "Our moderation decisions are final." Moderation combines "human oversight with advanced AI technology". The Terms go further: Talkie may suspend you "immediately and without notice" for a breach, and may "terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Services for any reason or no reason". Because fees are non-refundable, a ban in the middle of a yearly plan costs you the rest of it. Disputes go to binding arbitration in Singapore with a class action waiver, unless you opt out within 30 days.

Is Talkie private enough for adult chat?

Partly. Talkie promises it "will never use or disclose the content of your Talkie conversations for marketing or advertising purposes", which is a real commitment. The same policy says your chats are used "to allow your AI chatbot to learn from your interactions", and it shares visitor data such as IP address and advertising ID "with advertising companies for interest-based advertising", which it says "may be considered a 'sale' or 'sharing'" under California law. What Talkie does better than we do

Voice, scale and price of entry. Talkie's voiced characters are some of the best in the category, it has a huge character library (50 million plus installs on Google Play alone), it works on both phone platforms, and it has a free tier. A year of Talkie+ at $49.99 is cheaper than a year of our entry plan. If you want a large, safe-for-work character community with good voices, Talkie is a reasonable buy and we would not talk you out of it.

Which should you pay for?

You want romance that stays PG-13. Talkie+ at $9.99 a month, or $49.99 a year, is fine value. Its rules allow romance without sex, which is exactly what you want.

You keep hitting the filter mid-scene. That is the product working as designed, and paying more will not change it. You want a companion app whose rules allow explicit content between adults.
