Character AI prohibits sexually explicit content platform-wide, including for verified adults, and in November 2025 it removed open-ended chat for under-18 users entirely. OpenAI announced in October 2025 that ChatGPT would allow erotica for verified adults, and as of July 2026 it still has not shipped.
