Which AI chat apps allow sexting?

A minority of them, and the honest list is short. Depravity, Nomi, Kindroid and SpicyChat permit adult conversation between consenting adults. Character.AI, Talkie, Dopple, Yodayo and ChatGPT prohibit sexually explicit content in their own published rules. PolyBuzz sits awkwardly in between, and Grok has moved its Spicy Mode behind a paid, age-verified subscription.

The reason the lists you find elsewhere disagree so wildly is that most of them are affiliate pages ranking apps by commission rather than by policy. It is worth checking the source of any claim like this, including ours: every row in the table above quotes the company's own words, and where we could not find a document we said so rather than filling the gap.

One more distinction matters more than people expect. An app permitting adult chat is not the same as an app being good at it. Permission is a policy question. Whether the model stays in character, remembers what you told it last week, and writes like an adult rather than a customer service script is a product question, and plenty of permissive apps are weak at all three.

Why do most AI chatbots refuse?

Rarely because the model cannot. The same underlying models write adult fiction perfectly well when a company allows it. The block is a business decision, and there are three forces behind it that have nothing to do with technology.

App stores are the first. Apple and Google both restrict adult content, and an app that wants to stay in either store has a strong incentive to ban it outright rather than argue about edge cases. Botify AI being pulled from the App Store in early 2025 is the version of that story everybody saw. Payment processors are the second, and they are quieter but stricter: card networks apply extra rules to adult merchants, and the cheapest way for a general-purpose app to avoid that category is to forbid the content.

The third is liability, which has sharpened a lot recently. A California Attorney General action in January 2026 pushed Grok's Spicy Mode behind age verification and a paywall. OpenAI announced a verified-adult mode in October 2025 and then pushed it out in March 2026 without a new date. When a company builds a general assistant for everyone, adult content is a small revenue line attached to a large regulatory risk, so it gets cut.

Can ChatGPT sext?

No. As of August 2026 ChatGPT still refuses sexually explicit conversation. OpenAI announced in October 2025 that it would allow erotica for verified adults, then pushed the launch out in March 2026 with no replacement date, and nothing has shipped since. The refusal you get today is the intended behavior, not a bug or a bad prompt.

Jailbreak prompts circulate constantly and they are a poor answer even when they work for an afternoon. They get patched, they degrade the quality of the writing while they last, and using one puts your account against the terms you agreed to. There is also a quieter cost: a model fighting its own instructions produces stilted, hedged prose, which is the opposite of what anyone wants from this.

It is worth being fair about where ChatGPT genuinely beats a product like ours. Since August 2026 OpenAI has stopped rate-limiting text-only prompts on Free and Go accounts, so for ordinary text use it is both better resourced and free. If adult conversation is not what you are after, it is the better tool and we would rather say so.

What happens to an AI sexting chat after you send it?

This is the question worth asking before the fun one, because intimate chat logs are the most sensitive text most people will ever type into a computer, and the policies covering them vary enormously. Four things can happen to a message after you send it, and any given app may do all four.

• It gets stored. Almost always, and usually for longer than you would guess. Chai's policy allows retention for up to five years after you delete your account.
• It trains a model. CrushOn states plainly that it may use content from character chats to train its AI models, with no opt-out offered. Character.AI offers a training opt-out only in the EEA and UK, which means US users cannot use it.
• It gets reviewed by a person. Most platforms reserve the right to have humans read flagged conversations for moderation. We do too, and we disclose it, because the alternative is pretending the hard lines enforce themselves.
• It feeds advertising. Dopple's content license names displaying targeted advertisements among its purposes. Meta AI has fed chat signals into ad personalization since December 2025.

How do you get an AI to talk dirty without jailbreaks?

Use a product that permits it, and then stop trying to trick the model. That sounds glib, but almost every guide on this subject is really a guide to fighting a filter, and once the filter is gone the advice changes completely. On a permissive app the limiting factor is not permission any more, it is setup.

Three things do most of the work. Give the companion a specific personality rather than a generic one, because "confident, teasing, a bit impatient" produces far better writing than a list of physical attributes. Set the scene in your first message instead of opening with a greeting, since the model matches the register you establish. And correct it early: one clear line about tone in the first few exchanges shapes the whole conversation, where the same correction an hour in tends to arrive after the model has already learned the wrong habit.

The other half is memory. Anything the companion has to be told twice is a detail it did not retain, and no amount of prompting fixes a short context window. If a conversation keeps drifting or contradicting itself, you have hit memory rather than a filter, and the fix is a product with deeper recall rather than a better prompt.

What to check before you pay for an AI sexting app

Most of the disappointment in this category comes from finding a rule after you have paid rather than before. These checks take a couple of minutes and they are the ones that actually predict whether you will still be using the app in a month.

• Is adult content permitted in writing, in a document the company publishes? A marketing page that says uncensored is not the same as a content policy that permits it.
• Does the app say what it does with your chats? Look specifically for training, retention length, human review and advertising. Silence on all four is common and is worth treating as a no.
• Is there a real message limit, or a credit meter that makes you ration the conversation? Ask what happens after heavy use, not what the headline says.
• How much does it remember, and for how long? Deep memory is the difference between a companion and a random text generator.
• Can you export and delete everything yourself, without emailing support? If the answer is no, assume the data stays.
• What are the hard lines, and are they stated? Any serious adult product forbids content involving minors, non-consent and illegal activity, and says so plainly. An app that will not name its limits has not thought about them.
