Best Uncensored Anime AI Chatbots for Adults

The anime chat platforms with the biggest character libraries are also the ones with the strictest rules, and that is not a coincidence. Character.AI prohibits explicit content for every user including verified adults. Moescape, the platform Yodayo turned into, rates everything PG or PG-13. Chub AI states in its own documentation that it is uncensored. If you want an anime AI chatbot that actually permits adult roleplay, you are choosing from a much shorter list than the roundups suggest.

Everything below was checked against each platform's own documentation in August 2026, not against a review site. Where a company did not publish something, we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess. Which uncensored anime AI chatbot is best?

It depends which constraint binds first: content freedom, control over the model, or wanting to see a price before you hand over an email. Here is the map, with the source for each claim.

Read that table twice and the shape of the category becomes obvious. Not one of the platforms we checked, other than us, showed a price in the HTML it delivered. Only two publish a memory limit at all. This is a market where the basic facts a buyer needs are mostly absent, which is why so many roundups simply invent them.

One correction worth making in public, because we got it wrong ourselves. We previously reported that SpicyChat documented almost nothing, based on its terms page serving an unreadable JavaScript shell. Its actual product documentation lives on a separate host and is fully readable, and it turns out to be among the most detailed in this category: published context memory per plan, switchable models, group chats of 2 to 10 characters, and hard limits on voice cloning. What uncensored actually means on an anime chat platform

Chub AI is the most honest documentation in the category, and one line in its character creation guide explains the whole market better than any review does. Telling authors what image to use for a character avatar, it says to "try to avoid NSFW images whenever possible, it spooks the payment processors".

That is the real mechanism. Content rules on these platforms are not set by law. They are set by payment processors, app stores and advertisers, which is exactly why a service can be permissive one quarter and restrictive the next without any change in legislation. It is also why Character.AI, the platform with the deepest anime library, is the one with the tightest rules: scale brings commercial partners, and commercial partners bring restrictions. Uncensored is also not a synonym for unlimited, and any platform telling you it has no rules whatsoever is either misrepresenting itself or is something to stay away from. Here it means no corporate content gate, no canned refusals and no lectures. It does not mean anything involving minors, non-consent or illegal activity, which are refused at every tier and always will be.

The platforms that look uncensored but do not document it

A meaningful part of this category cannot be checked at all, and we would rather report that plainly than pretend to a certainty we do not have. When we requested these documents directly in August 2026: Janitor AI's terms page returned a 404. SpicyChat's terms page returned a JavaScript shell containing no readable policy text. Talkie's homepage returned 79 characters of text.

None of that is an accusation. Those documents may well exist behind JavaScript, and a 403 or a 404 proves nothing about a company's conduct. What it does mean is narrower and more useful: there is no commitment on the record that you could hold them to. When a platform's adult-content stance exists only in marketing copy and community forum posts, it can change without anyone announcing it, and you will find out when your account does. Why anime roleplay breaks, and the number nobody publishes

Anime roleplay is serialized. The arc is the product. That makes context length the single most important specification in this category, and almost nobody prints it.

Moescape is the exception, and credit where it is due. It publishes a token limit for every model on its Tavern side: 8,192 tokens for Nephra 8B, Lunara 12B, Nephra 70B and Seth 70B, and 4,096 for Apollo 13B. A token is roughly three quarters of a word, so 8,192 tokens is around 6,000 words of visible conversation, character definition included. In descriptive roleplay with long messages that is perhaps twenty to thirty exchanges before the opening of your story stops being visible to the model.

Character.AI does not publish a number but does admit the behavior, conceding in its own guide that as a conversation grows a Character "may forget things you told it early in the conversation but didn't repeat after that". The same guide is candid about a second problem, warning that "Characters Make Things Up" and that any Character "may confidently tell you things that are verifiably false". For anime that means invented events, forgotten relationships and characters drifting out of voice. Group scenes, and who actually supports them

Anime stories rarely have one character in them. A scene usually wants a rival, a friend and an antagonist, and most chat products are built around exactly one character talking to you.

Moescape documents the clearest implementation of this. Its guide says you can create group chats with up to three characters at once, that the first character selected becomes the main character and cannot be removed, that characters otherwise respond in a random order, and that you can prompt a specific one by writing @CharacterName. You can also convert an existing one-on-one chat into a group chat later. That is a genuinely good feature and we do not have an equivalent. The trade is the obvious one. Moescape has the group scenes and rates all of its content PG or PG-13, so the feature you want for ensemble roleplay sits on the platform that will not let the scene go anywhere adult. That tension runs through this entire category and it is the reason no single recommendation fits everyone.

What an anime AI chatbot costs

Mostly you will not find out before signing up. The two published figures we could verify are janitor+ at $12.99 a month as of June 2026, and Chub AI running on crypto subscriptions with roughly 20 messages a day on the free tier. A widely copied claim about a "Janitor AI Pro" plan at $9.99 refers to a plan that does not exist.

Depravity is paid only and the numbers sit on the pricing page. Open is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, with one companion. Unfiltered is $29 a month, or $24 yearly, and adds multiple companions, deeper long-term memory, voice notes and the custom personality you shape yourself. Boundless is $59 a month, or $49 yearly, with unlimited companions and maximum memory depth. All three include unlimited candid chat, and you must be 18 or over.

If free is what matters most, be honest with yourself about it and use Character.AI, Janitor AI or SpicyChat. They are genuinely free to use and we are not. Paying starts to make sense when you want one character that keeps developing over months, without a filter interrupting the arc and without your story sitting in a public library.

How to pick one

Work through it in this order, because the constraints are not equally important. First, does it permit the content you want? That eliminates Character.AI and Moescape for adult roleplay regardless of everything else they do well. Second, can you read its rules at all? A platform whose terms return a 404 has given you nothing to rely on. Third, does it publish anything about memory? Almost none do, and that absence is worth pricing in.

Then decide which half of the category you belong to. If browsing thousands of fan-made characters is the pleasure, you want a public library, and Chub AI is the most permissive of them by its own documentation.
