That last part is why this article exists. On September 15, 2026 we read the Venice pricing page, the API pricing documentation at docs.venice.ai, the Terms of Service last updated June 8, 2026, and the privacy overview, all on the same afternoon. Everything below comes from those pages. Where Venice publishes two different answers, we print both and tell you which surface said what, rather than picking the one that reads better.

How much does Venice AI Pro cost?

Eighteen dollars a month, billed monthly. The pricing page lists Pro at $18, Pro Plus at $68 and Max at $200, and advertises annual billing as saving up to 16.7% against paying month to month. Fees are in US dollars.

The free tier is real but narrow. It gives you base models, API access and what Venice markets as a "Private & uncensored" experience, then caps you at 10 text prompts and 15 image prompts per day. That is enough to find out whether the open-weights models write the way you want, and not enough to use as your daily assistant. Venice deserves credit for having a free tier at all, which most paid products in this category do not.

What do you get with Venice AI Pro?

The plans differ on three axes: which models you can reach, how many images you can make in a day, and how many credits land in your account each month.

Two rows there decide whether $18 is the right number for you. The image limit is generous to the point of being irrelevant for most people, because 1,000 images a day is not a constraint anyone hits casually. The credit row is the opposite: 100 credits is a small allowance, and it is the only thing standing between you and paying extra the first time you generate a video.

What are Venice AI credits and what is one actually worth?

Credits meter the expensive features. Venice's API documentation says credits cover usage across text models, embeddings, image generation, audio for text to speech and speech to text, music generation, video generation, and web features like search and scraping. On the consumer side, the pricing page describes video, music and the frontier image and text models as the things you spend credits on rather than getting included.

Here is the problem, and it is Venice's, not ours. The consumer pricing page states that 100 credits equal $1, and lists Pro as including 100 monthly credits. Read literally, the Pro plan's entire monthly credit allowance is worth one dollar. The API documentation describes something else: credits purchased at a 1:1 rate against the US dollar, meaning 100 credits would be $100, plus a statement that "Pro subscribers receive a one-time $10 Venice credit when upgrading to Pro". A one-time $10 credit is not 100 monthly credits at any exchange rate.

We are not going to resolve that for you by guessing which page is current, because a wrong number here is the difference between a $18 bill and a much larger one. Both surfaces are live and both are Venice's. Open your own account billing page before you rely on either figure, and watch what the first video generation actually deducts. If the allowance really is worth a dollar, then Pro is best understood as an $18 unlimited-text plan with a rounding error of credits attached, not as a plan that includes video.

Third-party pricing roundups mostly do not flag this at all. Several repeat the "100 credits = $1" line and the welcome-credit line in the same paragraph without noticing they contradict each other, which is a good reminder that an aggregator page is a copy of a copy.

Do Venice AI credits expire?

The API documentation is unambiguous about purchased credits: "Credits never expire." Buy a balance and it stays available.

Monthly allowance credits look different. The pricing page markets credit banking as a benefit of the higher tiers, with unused credits rolling forward two months on Pro Plus and three months on Max. A rollover window that has a limit implies the monthly allowance does lapse at the end of it, and Pro is not listed as having banking at all, which implies its 100 credits do not roll over. Venice does not spell that out in a sentence, so treat it as the reasonable reading rather than a published rule.

There is also a separate token system in play. The docs mention Diem, where "Each Diem = $1/day of credits that refresh daily", alongside the VVV token referenced on the pricing page. Neither is required to use a normal subscription, and if crypto mechanics are not something you want anywhere near your chat app, that is a reasonable thing to weigh.

Can you get a refund from Venice AI?

Generally no. The Terms of Service state that "all fees are denominated in U.S. Dollars and are non-refundable, except as required by law." You can cancel a subscription at any time from account settings, which stops the next charge rather than refunding the current period. The operating entity is Venice.ai, Inc. in Sheridan, Wyoming, and the terms are governed by Wyoming law.

The practical consequence of a subscription plus a top-up wallet is that your card statement stops matching the sticker price. You get an $18 line every month, then irregular amounts whenever you buy credits, and after a few months nobody can tell you from memory what the tool cost last year. If you want the real annual figure before renewing an annual plan, the quickest way is to turn the PDF statement into a spreadsheet and total every charge from the one merchant. It usually lands higher than people expect, and it is the number that should decide the renewal.

Is Venice AI Pro worth it?

It is worth it for a specific person: someone who wants a general-purpose, uncensored AI workbench and will genuinely use the breadth.
