ChatFAI Alternative for Adult Character Chat

The right ChatFAI alternative depends on why you are leaving, because ChatFAI already allows NSFW chat in writing. Its help center says "Yes, NSFW is allowed", every paid plan lists "NSFW/uncensored/spicy ai chat", and the yearly Basic plan lists at $99 a year. People move on for other reasons: a monthly message cap on every plan below Deluxe, "limited memory" on the entry tier, a privacy story that contradicts itself, and no iPhone app.

We read ChatFAI's pricing page, its Terms of Service, its privacy policy (effective January 9, 2023), the articles in its help center and its Google Play listing on October 12, 2026. Every ChatFAI figure and quotation below comes from those pages. Prices for the other products come from their own pages on the dates we give, and you should check every row at checkout, ours included.

How much does ChatFAI cost?

ChatFAI sells three plans and a free tier. Its pricing page opens on yearly billing, and on the day we read it a Halloween promo code was taking 40% off the first charge. The terms say promo codes "are for first charge and revert to normal pricing", so the list price is the one that matters for year two.

ChatFAI's help center says yearly billing saves 20% against monthly, but the monthly prices sit behind a tab we could not open, so we are not printing a figure we did not see. On top of any plan you can buy message credits that "never expire", which are also what its API spends. There is no free trial; the help center says so plainly. Subscriptions renew "under the exact same conditions" until you cancel, and refunds are "considered ... on a case-by-case basis" at ChatFAI's discretion.

Does ChatFAI allow NSFW?

Yes. The help center article on the question answers: "Yes, NSFW is allowed. However, there are a few restrictions. You are not allowed to promote illegal activity or engage in NSFW content with characters under the age of 18." The site has a menu item called NSFW/Uncensored chat, and the feature appears on every paid plan.

The age rule is a promise, not a check. The terms say that by creating an account "you guarantee that you are above the age of 18." We found no age verification step and no published content policy beyond that help article. The ChatFAI app on Google Play is rated Everyone, which sits oddly next to an 18+ web service that sells uncensored chat.

Why people look for a ChatFAI alternative

The message meter. Basic gives you 1,500 messages a month. That sounds like a lot until you roleplay: a long scene can burn 100 messages in an evening, which puts a daily user out of messages in about two weeks. Premium raises it to 5,000, and only Deluxe at $590 a year list removes the cap. If you have ever rationed replies to make the month last, that is the reason. Memory on the entry plan. Basic lists "limited memory". ChatFAI's own help article on memory says a character "will forget that it is at a dinner party after a certain amount of messages." Long-term memory lives in the character's bio, and the rest is whatever fits in recent dialogue.

A privacy story that does not hold together. One help article says "Chatfai encrypts all chats end-to-end and does not store logs, transcripts, or usage analytics." The pricing page sells "Unlimited chat storage" on every plan, and the privacy policy names Google Analytics and remarketing services that "advertise on third party websites to you." All three can't be fully true at once. The privacy policy, dated January 2023, says nothing about chats or about training models, in either direction.

Characters based on real people. ChatFAI's homepage lists popular characters modelled on real public figures, including a Twitch streamer. If an adult chat platform where real people's likenesses are one tap from NSFW chat makes you uneasy, that is a fair reason to look elsewhere. We do not allow sexual content about real, identifiable people at all.

No iPhone app. The help center still says native apps are "coming soon". There is an Android app with about 5,000 downloads, last updated June 1, 2026, and no iOS app we could find. On iPhone you use the website.

What ChatFAI does better than we do

Breadth and price of entry. ChatFAI has a free tier, a big library of characters from films, shows, books and history, character creation with public or private visibility, voice messages, personas and a knowledge store. Its Basic plan, at $99 a year list, costs less than our $144 yearly plan, and with a promo code it costs much less. If you mostly chat a few times a week with many different characters, ChatFAI is good value and you may not need anything else.

We are narrower on purpose. Depravity is one uncensored companion chat for adults: no character library, no voice, no free tier. What you get instead is unlimited messages on every plan and one rule set written once.

Which ChatFAI alternative fits you

You chat a few times a week with lots of different characters. Stay on ChatFAI. The Basic plan is cheap and the cap will not bite.

Can I get a refund from ChatFAI?

Is there a ChatFAI app for iPhone?
