Venice AI uncensored: the Pro plan, the pricing, and the age limits

Is Venice AI uncensored?

For text, largely yes, and for a structural reason rather than a promise you have to trust. Venice is a front end to open-weights models that were never fine-tuned by a company with an advertiser problem, so there is no separate corporate moderation layer deciding whether your topic is allowed. Its own marketing calls this "a truly uncensored AI experience".

The honest qualifier is that "uncensored" is doing two jobs on those pages. It describes the models, which genuinely do not refuse much, and it also works as a headline. Venice's /uncensored page uses the words "uncensored" and "unrestricted intelligence" without publishing a single rule about what is off limits. The rules live somewhere else entirely, in the Terms of Service, and they are stricter and stranger than the marketing suggests.

The second qualifier is quality. Open-weights models are a step behind the frontier ones on prose and on holding instructions over a long conversation. You are trading writing quality for freedom. For a lot of work that is the right trade. For long companion conversation, where the whole product is the quality of the writing, it is a real cost.

What is the Venice AI age limit?

Thirteen, according to Venice. Section 4 of its Terms of Service, last updated June 8, 2026, states: "You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service." Anyone under eighteen "must have a parent or guardian's consent to use the Service". There is no age verification step described anywhere in the document.

That is the lowest published floor we have found on any product marketed as uncensored. For comparison, Kindroid, Janitor AI, Replika and PolyBuzz all set 18 in their terms. Venice sets 13 and then asks minors to promise not to interfere with a content filter: under-18s agree they will not "disable, block, circumvent, or otherwise impede with the mature content filter in connection with your use of the Service."

The app stores do not agree with the terms or with each other. Apple rates the Venice AI app 17+. Google Play rates the same app "Everyone". So one company ships one product under three different answers about who it is for, and a buyer reading only the marketing sees none of them. We are not going to tell you what to conclude from that. We are telling you where to read it, because it took four sources on one afternoon to find out and it should have taken one.

How much is Venice AI Pro?

Eighteen dollars a month. Venice's pricing page lists Pro at $18 a month, Pro Plus at $68 and Max at $200, with annual billing advertised as saving up to 16.7%. There is a free tier at $0 that includes base models, API access and a hard daily cap of 10 text prompts and 15 image prompts.

Pro buys all Pro models, unlimited text prompts, up to 1,000 images a day, extended context windows and image tools like upscaling and background removal. It also includes a monthly credit allowance, and credits are the part people get wrong, because video generation, music generation and the frontier text and image models are all paid out of credits rather than included in the subscription.

Venice's two surfaces do not describe those credits the same way, so we are not going to print a single figure for what the allowance is worth. The consumer pricing page lists 100 monthly credits for Pro and states that 100 credits equal $1. The API documentation says credits are bought at a 1:1 rate against the dollar, that "Credits never expire", and that "Pro subscribers receive a one-time $10 Venice credit when upgrading to Pro". Those cannot all describe the same unit. Check your own account page before you budget.

Does Venice AI have a mature content filter?

Its terms say it does. The eligibility section refers to "the mature content filter" as an existing part of the service that minors must not circumvent. What that filter blocks, when it is on, and whether an adult account can turn it off are not stated anywhere in the terms, the privacy overview or the pricing page.

This is the gap worth noticing before you pay. A product that advertises itself as uncensored, and that also ships a mature content filter it never documents, has left the most important question about its own content rules unanswered in writing. Community guides describe a Mature Content toggle on the Characters section that is off until you turn it on, which matches the existence of a filter, but that is a third-party account of a user interface and not something Venice publishes.

The prohibitions Venice does publish are the ones any serious operator has, and they are the right ones: no content that would "abuse or exploit children, including by facilitating minor grooming, trafficking, sextortion, or abuse", nothing that infringes third-party rights, nothing illegal, and no impersonation or fraud. Those are hard lines here too, and ours do not move either.

Is Venice AI private?

On architecture, Venice is stronger than we are, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Its privacy overview states plainly: "Your conversation history stays on your device. Venice never stores it on its servers." For its private mode it says "No prompt or response is stored." If your threat model is a company holding your chat logs, local-only storage answers that better than any policy promise can.

The tradeoffs are the ones local storage always brings. History that lives in your browser is gone when that browser is cleared, and it does not follow you to your phone. The privacy overview we read carried no last-updated date, which makes it harder to hold anyone to, and it did not address whether conversations are used to train models. For anonymous mode it notes that "you should assume the provider is storing your content", which is a candid thing to publish.

Ours is a different bargain, stated plainly: chats are encrypted and stored on our servers so your companion can remember you across devices and sessions. They are never sold and never shared, never used to train advertising, and you can export or delete them whenever you want. We do disclose automated and human review to enforce the hard lines above. If you would rather nothing sat on a server at all, Venice is the better fit and you should take it.

Is the Venice AI app on the App Store the real one?

Check the seller before you install, because there is more than one Venice AI on the App Store. The genuine app is listed as "Venice AI" from seller VENICE.AI with the bundle identifier com.ai.venice, first released on August 14, 2025, updated to version 1.17.13 on September 13, 2026, rated 17+ and carrying about 4.2 stars from roughly 1,100 ratings.

Sitting a few results away in the same search is "Venice AI - Chat Assistant" from a seller called SMS TOV, rated 4+, with 3.4 stars from five ratings and a first release in May 2026. Its bundle identifier is com.SwiftPDFEditor26writ.app, which is to say the app riding the Venice name was shipped from a PDF editor project. That is not Venice.

On Google Play the real listing is the same identifier, com.ai.venice, showing 500,000 or more downloads and about 4.4 stars, rated "Everyone". Lookalikes are endemic in this category and they are the fastest way to hand your conversations to a stranger. The pattern repeats across every brand in this market.

Venice AI or Depravity: which should you pick?

Pick Venice if you want a general-purpose, uncensored AI workbench. You want to choose models, generate images, hit an API, keep everything on your own device, and you are comfortable budgeting credits for the expensive features. The free tier lets you test that for nothing, and ten prompts a day is enough to find out whether the models suit you.

Pick us if what you actually want is a companion that just talks. There is nothing to configure: no model menu, no credits, no mature-content switch to hunt down. You pick a companion and start, it remembers your context across sessions, and the price is flat at $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly. We are adults only at 18 and over, we say that in one place, and it is the same number on every surface we control.

The short version of the difference is what each product is willing to put in writing. Venice publishes excellent prices and an excellent privacy architecture, and leaves its content rules and its age story spread across four documents that disagree. We publish one age floor, one set of hard lines and one price.
