Janitor AI subscription and janitor+ price, monthly vs annual

A Janitor AI subscription means one product, janitor+, and since its June 2026 launch it has quietly grown a second price. The plan page now offers $12.99 billed monthly or $99 billed yearly, which works out to $8.25 a month. Most review pages still print the monthly figure only, and none of them mention that the yearly plan does not exist inside the iPhone app.

Short answer

A Janitor AI subscription (janitor+) costs $12.99 a month, or $99 a year on the web, which is $8.25 a month and the 36% saving Janitor advertises. The iPhone app sells the monthly plan only, at $12.99. janitor+ buys five times the free context (the free tier is about 9k tokens), priority replies, monthly swipes on stronger models and access to a pay-per-token Router. It does not loosen moderation: section 8.7 of the Terms says payment does not limit Janitor's ability to filter or refuse requests.

What makes it feel honest

Janitor AI subscription, the way it should feel

One price, no wallet

Our plan covers the conversation. There is no Router balance to top up, no per-token rate to read before each message and no credits that expire after a year.

Adult content allowed in writing

janitor+ does not change what Janitor moderates, and its Terms say so. Our rules allow explicit adult chat between adults, with hard lines on minors, non-consent and anything illegal.

Monthly or yearly, same rules

Open is $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly. The yearly price is on the website, the checkout is on the website, and nothing changes about what the companion will say.

Honest comparison

Every way to pay for a Janitor AI subscription, what it costs a year, and what each one does not include

Option Price Cost over 12 months What it leaves out
Janitor AI free tier $0 $0 About 9k tokens of context, standard models, no priority routing, no Router
janitor+ monthly, on the web $12.99 a month, tax not included $155.88 Router usage is billed per token from a separate wallet. Moderation unchanged
janitor+ annual, on the web $99.00 billed yearly ($8.25 a month) $99.00 Paid up front, generally non-refundable, no partial refunds for unused time
janitor+ in the iPhone app $12.99 a month (the only janitor+ item listed) $155.88 No yearly option on the App Store listing. Apple handles billing and refunds
Depravity Open, for comparison $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly $180, or $144 yearly No free tier and no public character library. No wallet, no credits

Janitor figures were read on October 6, 2026 from janitorai.com/plus, the Janitor Terms of Service (last updated July 29, 2026), the help center article "FAQ: Subscription" and the US App Store listing for Janitor: Interactive Stories. Twelve-month totals are our arithmetic. Prices in this market move, ours included, so confirm the figure on your own checkout screen.

How much is a Janitor AI subscription?

janitor+ costs $12.99 a month or $99 a year. The plan page shows both: "Monthly $12.99 Billed monthly" and "Annually Save 36% $8.25/mo $99.00 billed yearly". The fine print adds that the plan "Renews automatically", that "Usage limits apply", that tax is not included and that "Plans/prices may change". Janitor launched the subscription on June 24, 2026 as, in its own words, "our first-ever subscription product", at the monthly price only.

Over a year the gap is real. Twelve monthly payments come to $155.88 before tax, against $99 for the annual plan, a difference of $56.88. That is the whole case for paying yearly, and it only holds if you are still using Janitor in month eleven.

If you see a $9.99 "Pro" tier or an $11.69 "Premium" tier on a review site, it does not match anything Janitor publishes. The plan page offers Free and janitor+, monthly or annual, and nothing else.

Does Janitor AI have a subscription, or is it free?

Both. Janitor's help center answers "Does JanitorAI have a subscription plan?" with janitor+, and answers "Will the free disappear?" with "No. We will always keep a free option available for everyone." The free tier includes unlimited chats with millions of bots, standard chat models and a "Context limit of around 9k tokens".

That free tier is generous by the standards of this market, and it is the honest reason many people never pay. The subscription exists for one problem above all, which is memory in long scenes. If your characters already remember what you need them to, the free plan is doing its job.

If your problem is the filter rather than memory, the free app setting and the rules behind it are on our Janitor AI filter and NSFW rules page.

What does janitor+ include?

Five things, by the plan page: "5x more context, so bots remember more", "Priority routing for faster replies when it's busy", "Monthly enhanced swipes with stronger models", "Choose from more models with an included Router balance", and cosmetic extras (janitor+ emojis, a checkmark and a gold username). The help article adds comment react emojis.

Context is the part that changes the experience. Five times about 9k tokens is roughly 45k, which by our arithmetic is the difference between a character forgetting the first act of a long scene and carrying it through. The enhanced swipes are a monthly allowance, and Janitor does not publish how many you get.

The Router line is new since launch and worth reading slowly. It means more models are available inside Janitor, paid per token from a balance. The plan includes some balance, and anything past it comes out of your own wallet.

Should you pick janitor+ monthly or annual?

Pick monthly unless you are sure. The annual plan saves $56.88 a year, but Janitor's refund terms make it a bet on the whole year. Section 8.5 says that after you cancel, "your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period" and that "No partial refunds will be provided for unused portions of a billing period". On an annual plan, the billing period is twelve months.

There is also a practical limit. The US App Store listing for the Janitor app shows one janitor+ item, "Janitor+ Monthly $12.99". If you subscribe on your phone, you are on the monthly plan. The yearly price is a web checkout, billed through Stripe, and it is managed from Settings, then Billing, then Manage subscription.

Section 8.4 adds one more risk to either choice: Janitor "may adjust subscription pricing at any time", with a change reaching existing subscribers at the start of the next billing cycle after notice. A yearly plan locks your price for longer, which is the one advantage it has besides the discount.

Does a Janitor AI subscription remove the NSFW filter?

No, and the Terms say it outright. Section 8.7 reads: "Payment for a subscription or Router Credits does not limit our ability to moderate Content, filter or refuse requests, restrict features, suspend or terminate an Account". It adds that a moderated or filtered use "does not entitle you to a refund or credit".

The rules themselves sit in section 6 and do not change with the plan. Janitor bans content that depicts "gore, bestiality, or sexual violence", any depiction of people under 18, and attempts to "circumvent security features or moderation controls". The platform is 18 and over, but the subscription is sold as more memory and speed, not as different content rules.

So the subscription is the wrong purchase if refusals are the problem. That is the gap our product is built for: adult content between adults is allowed by our rules in writing, on every plan, and the hard lines are stated rather than discovered.

What does the janitor+ Router cost on top of the subscription?

Whatever the models you pick cost per token. Section 8.8 of the Terms governs Router Credits, and four rules there matter before you top up. "An active janitor+ subscription is required to purchase and use Router Credits", so a lapsed plan freezes the balance. Purchases "are final and non-refundable, including for unused or expired Credits". Janitor may expire unused purchased credits 365 days after purchase.

The fourth rule is the one people miss. A request "may consume Router Credits if billable usage occurs even when the request or output is cancelled, interrupted, timed out, partially delivered, filtered, moderated, or refused after processing begins." A reply you never got can still cost you.

So the honest monthly price for a Router user is $12.99, or $8.25 on the annual plan, plus a variable second number. If you want one figure that never moves, that structure works against you.

How do you cancel a Janitor AI subscription, and can you get a refund?

On the web, go to Settings, then Billing, then Manage Subscription, which opens the Stripe billing page. If you subscribed in the app, cancel through the App Store or Google Play, because the help center says "App-based subscriptions cannot be canceled from the web." Deleting the app cancels nothing.

Refunds are the exception. The help center says "Subscriptions are generally non-refundable, except where required by our Terms of Service or applicable law", and section 9.1 adds that you are not entitled to a refund because Janitor removes content, restricts features or suspends an account. Section 9.4 is the one case where Janitor promises money back: a pro rata refund if Janitor itself ends your subscription for reasons other than your breach, or discontinues the paid service mid-period.

Billing questions go to billing@janitorai.com. One more detail from section 8.2: the Terms authorize an affiliate, Dulova Investments Limited of Nicosia, Cyprus, to charge your payment method, which explains an unfamiliar name on a card statement.

Is a Janitor AI subscription worth it?

For memory, yes. If your long scenes lose the thread at around 9k tokens, five times the context for $8.25 to $12.99 a month is a fair trade, and the free tier stays there if you cancel. Choose monthly first and switch to annual on the web once you know you will stay.

For fewer refusals, no. Janitor's own Terms say paying does not change moderation, and the Router can bill you for a refused reply. If what you want is an adult conversation that the platform's rules allow, buy a product whose rules allow it.

That is where we fit, and where we do not. Depravity is a private, uncensored AI chat for adults with a companion that remembers you, from $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly, with no wallet and no credits.
