Why people look for an OurDream AI alternative

The most common reason is the second meter. OurDream's upgrade page says "Unlimited messages" on both paid plans, and that is true for the standard chat models. Its own coin guide then lists what is not covered: replies from the Genius and Lively Genius models cost 1 Dreamcoin each, premium narration voices cost 5 coins a paragraph, voice calls cost 50 coins a minute and in-chat images cost 5 coins each. Premium includes 1,000 coins a month, so a few long voice calls or one evening on the better model can empty it.

The second reason is the filter. OurDream allows explicit chat, but a help article answers "Why was my content flagged?" with "Our system is a bit too sensitive right now and may flag safe content." Asked why the fix is taking so long, it says the system has to stay strict "to comply with our third-party payment providers". If you are paying $19.99 a month and losing scenes to false flags, that is a fair reason to look elsewhere.

"Ourdream ai down" also sits in Google autocomplete. When we checked on October 19, 2026 the site, the upgrade page and the help center all loaded normally in a browser.

What OurDream AI costs, plan by plan

The upgrade page lists two paid plans. Premium is $19.99 a month billed monthly, or $9.99 a month billed $119.88 once a year, and includes 1,000 Dreamcoins a month, which the page translates as "20 minutes of voice calls" or "10 videos". Deluxe is $59.99 a month, or $29.99 a month billed $359.88 a year, and includes 5,000 coins, "Free premium chat models" and "3X chat memory". All prices are in USD.

The "Save 50%" badge on the annual toggle checks out: twelve months of Premium at $19.99 is $239.88, against $119.88 billed yearly. Annual subscribers also get a one-time coin bonus, 1,000 extra coins on Premium and 5,000 on Deluxe in the first month, according to the plan cards.

You can add coins to the order with a slider: 1,000 coins for $11.99, 5,000 for $49.99 and 20,000 for $159.99. The help center says OurDream takes cards, crypto and local payment methods, and that "at the moment we do not accept PayPal". Free accounts can chat, but the coin guide says every message then costs 1 coin.

What a Dreamcoin buys, and where the meter starts

These are the costs OurDream lists in its own help article "What costs coins?", written for paid subscribers. The dollar figures in brackets are our arithmetic at the $11.99 per 1,000 top-up price.

• Chat on the standard models: 0 coins on a paid plan.
• Genius or Lively Genius reply: 1 coin each (about 1.2 cents).
• Voice call: 50 coins a minute (about 60 cents a minute).
• Premium narration voice: 5 coins a paragraph.
• In-chat image: 5 coins. Standard image generation: 10 coins per 2 images.
• Video: 100 coins per 5 seconds, up to 1,200 coins for 60 seconds (about $14.39 for a full minute).
• Creating a chatbot: 10 coins. Unlocking a character community pack: 250, 750 or 1,000 coins.

Where OurDream's own pages disagree

Read the upgrade page and the help center side by side and they do not always describe the same product. The upgrade FAQ says you can top up "at any time from the coin store without changing your plan". The help center says "You currently need an active subscription to purchase dreamcoins." The plan cards promise "1000 Dreamcoins every month", while the coin guide says "Dreamcoins do not refresh monthly" and that subscribers receive 1,000 on their billing anniversary.

Coins after cancelling are described three ways. One article says "Coins do not expire" The cancellation article says unused coins "Remain in your account until billing period ends" and that after resubscribing "Any previous unused coins are not restored." The refund article adds that after a refund "Any unused dreamcoins will be removed".

Refunds follow the same pattern. The Refund Policy, last modified March 9, 2026, reviews defects reported within 14 days "on a case-by-case basis" and says unused parts of a billing period are "generally non-refundable". The help center adds a harder rule: "We cannot issue refunds for product that has used more than 25% of it's amount", and monthly plans "cannot be refunded if the coin has been used up". Crypto payments are final under both.

None of this means OurDream bills unfairly. It does mean you should screenshot the page you relied on before you pay, because the next page may say something else.

Does OurDream AI allow NSFW?

Yes. OurDream is built around explicit chat and image generation, and its terms require users to be 18 or older, with an age attestation at sign-up and verification "where required by applicable law". What it bans is set out in the Prohibited Content Policy, last modified June 9, 2026, which lists fourteen categories.

Several of them match our own hard lines: anything involving or resembling minors, real people without consent, illegal content and non-consensual sexual content. The list then goes further than most. It bans incest, gore and bestiality, and a list of "objectionable fetish content". Its non-consent clause also covers "the eroticised loss of agency through mind-break, hypnosis, or brainwashing", which rules out a lot of fantasy roleplay between fictional adults.

Enforcement is described as "a content moderation filter based on our proprietary LLM technology", with flagged content open to manual review and possible account termination. Public characters go through a review that "usually" completes within 72 hours. Our terms list three hard lines, minors, non-consent or abuse of real people, and anything illegal, and we disclose that automated and human review enforce them.

What happens to your chats and images when you leave

OurDream's privacy policy, last modified August 26, 2026, lists "chat communications" as User Content and says it uses information to "Analyze, maintain, improve, modify, customize, and measure the Services, including to train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models". The terms grant OurDream a "perpetual, irrevocable" license to that content, including the right to "commercialize" it and pass it to partners. The policy also says that if a public character you made becomes popular enough, OurDream may keep it running "even if you otherwise delete your data and your account".

Cancelling has a visible cost too. The help center says that without a subscription "all images and videos generated would be blurred", so it tells you to download anything you want to keep first. Deleting the account removes chat history and forfeits unused coins with no refund.

Our terms work differently. You keep ownership of your messages, the license we take is limited to operating, securing and improving the service for you, chats are never sold, and you can export or delete them from your account.

Is there an OurDream app?

No official one. OurDream's help center says "We don't have a standalone mobile app yet" and suggests adding the site to your home screen instead. A search for "ourdream" in the US App Store on October 19, 2026 returned no app from OurDream's developer. One result, an adult companion app from an unrelated developer, uses a bundle identifier that contains "ourdreamsai".

If you want OurDream, it is a website. Anything in an app store that looks like it is someone else, collecting your data under their own terms.

OurDream combines three products: a character chat, an image and video generator, and a public library of characters other users made. The right replacement depends on which of those you were paying for. If it was the images and video, look for another generator, because we do not make images at all. OurDream generates images and video, and we do not. It is cheaper on annual billing: Premium works out to $9.99 a month against our $12. Voice calls come with its $19.99 Premium plan, metered by coins, while ours are only on our top plan. It also has a large public character library, a busy Discord and a free tier to look around before paying.

Where we differ is predictability. One monthly price covers everything on the plan, with no coin balance and no reply that costs extra because you picked a better model. Our rules sit in one document, and your chats leave with you.

Pick by what you actually used OurDream for.

• You mostly generate images and video. Stay with OurDream or another generator; we do not make images.
• You browse and publish community characters. A large library like SpicyChat or Janitor AI is the closer fit.
• You chat on the Genius models and keep running out of coins. Deluxe at $59.99 removes that meter; an unmetered chat plan costs less.
