AI smut writer, AI smut generator and AI erotica writer that drafts the scene with you
Most AI writing tools will help with the plot and then go quiet at the one scene you actually opened them for. Depravity is an uncensored AI chat for adults, and for erotica that means a writing partner who stays in the room: you set up the characters and the heat level, it drafts the scene, and you push back line by line until it reads the way you hear it.

Short answer
An AI smut writer is only useful if it writes the explicit scene instead of fading to black, and most mainstream tools do not: Sudowrite documents that its GPT-4o Mini mode "avoids explicit sexual content", and only its Muse model is described as having "virtually none" of a filter. Depravity writes explicit scenes between consenting adults on every plan, from $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly, with unlimited chat and no credits. Our three hard lines are minors, non-consent and anything illegal. For dark romance built on non-consent, ErosWriter and River state fewer limits than we do.
We are honest about the shape of the product. It is a conversation, not a manuscript editor with a story bible and chapter view. Writers who draft by talking, trading lines, testing dialogue or roleplaying a scene before they write it down get the most out of it. If you want a 90,000-word document workspace, the comparison below names the tools built for that, including where they beat us.
What makes it feel honest
AI smut writer, the way it should feel
No fade to black
Explicit scenes between consenting adults are written out, not summarized in a sentence and skipped. You decide how graphic, and you can dial it up or down mid-scene.
Characters that stay in voice
Memory holds names, history and what already happened, so the scene in chapter nine still knows what they said in chapter two. Deeper memory comes with the Unfiltered plan.
One bill, no credits
Every plan is unlimited chat. There is no credit meter that a long revision session drains halfway through the draft.

What does an AI smut writer need to do that ordinary AI writers will not?
Write the scene. That sounds obvious, and it is the exact point where most general writing assistants stop being useful. They will outline a romance, name the characters, write the tension and the first kiss, and then cut to the morning after. For erotica that is the one paragraph you needed.
The reason is upstream of the writing tool. Sudowrite, which runs several models under one subscription, documents the split in its own model guide: its Basic mode, built on GPT-4o Mini, is "Strict, inheriting OpenAI's content moderation" and "may refuse or severely water down mature content in erotica", while its own Muse model is described as "Virtually none" on content filtering. Same subscription, different answer, depending on which engine you picked from a menu.
So the useful questions before paying for any AI erotica writer are narrow ones. Does it write explicit content, stated in writing rather than implied by a review? What does it refuse? What caps a long revision session? And does the product shape fit how you write: a document you edit, or a conversation you steer?
How Depravity works as an AI erotica writer
It is a chat, so you write with it the way you would with a very patient co-author on the other end of a message thread. Most writers settle into one of four patterns, and each works on every plan.
- Set the scene, then ask for a draft. Give it the two characters, where they are, what they want from each other and how explicit you want it, and it writes the passage in full.
- Revise by instruction. "Slower", "less purple", "more from her point of view", "cut the last paragraph and end on the line about the door". It rewrites the same passage instead of starting over.
- Roleplay the scene first. Play one character yourself and let it play the other. Writers who struggle with dialogue often find the lines they could not write alone, then tidy the transcript into prose.
- Keep a character in voice. Tell it who someone is once, and memory holds it. On Unfiltered and Boundless you can set a custom personality, so the companion itself can be your recurring co-author or your leading man.
If you mainly want to play the scene rather than write it up, our AI roleplay chat page covers that side of the product, and the full plan list is on pricing. Coming from a dedicated writing tool? Our SmutGPT alternative breakdown covers its euro pricing, daily token caps and what its terms ban.
Can ChatGPT or Claude write smut?
Not the explicit parts, and nothing you type changes that. OpenAI's published Model Spec gives the rule against generating erotica for ordinary users a system-level authority, which means no user or developer instruction is meant to override it. Sudowrite's own blog puts it plainly: "Claude and ChatGPT block explicit content by default".
That is why prompt tricks for mainstream assistants tend to work once and then stop. You end up writing around the scene instead of writing it. A tool whose policy permits adult content in writing saves that time, and time is what you are actually paying for when you pay for a writing tool.
We read five dated versions of that specification side by side on our ChatGPT NSFW page, and ChatGPT erotica covers what it still lets a writer do with a finished draft.
Does Sudowrite allow NSFW writing?
Yes, on some of its models, and the model you choose decides it. Sudowrite's model guide rates Muse, its proprietary model, as having "Virtually none" on content filtering and adds "Muse won't shy away from adult content." Its Excellent mode is "Incredibly permissive" but "may imply rather than explicitly describe adult situations." Basic, on GPT-4o Mini, is strict.
Two details are worth knowing before you buy. Sudowrite prices in credits, 225,000 a month on the Hobby and Student plan ($19 a month, or $10 billed yearly), so heavy revision of one long scene draws that down. And its terms prohibit use "for any obscene or immoral purpose", a clause that sits awkwardly beside the Muse description. We are not reading that as a ban, only noting that the permission lives in a model guide while the prohibition lives in the terms.
Is NovelAI uncensored?
NovelAI is widely described as unfiltered, but we could not find that stated first-hand. On September 25, 2026 its FAQ and terms said nothing either way about explicit text; the terms require users to be 18 or older. What NovelAI does state clearly is its privacy model: stories "are encrypted in your browser, so all story data at rest on our servers is encrypted and nobody but you can read your stories."
Its plans are $10 a month for Tablet, $15 for Scroll and $25 for Opus, with unlimited text generation from Tablet up. Its current text models are fine-tunes of open models, Erato on Llama 3 70B and Xialong on GLM-4.6, and its homepage now leads with anime image generation. For a writer who wants a document-first tool with encrypted storage, it is a serious option.

What Depravity will not write
Three things, and they do not move for any plan or any prompt: anything involving minors, anything non-consensual, and anything illegal. We print that on every page because an erotica writer deserves to know the boundary before paying, not after the first refusal.
The non-consent line is the one that matters for this genre. A lot of dark romance is built on dubious or non-consent, and we will not write it. ErosWriter lists dark romance and BDSM and names only depictions of minors as excluded, and River states no limit beyond illegal content. If that is your genre, those are the honest recommendation, and we would rather tell you now.
Everything else between adults, kink included, is on the table, written explicitly if you ask for explicit and tastefully if you ask for tasteful.
Who should buy a different AI erotica writer
We would rather lose a sale than keep a writer in the wrong tool. Here is where the competition wins, in plain terms.
- You are drafting a full novel and want chapters, a story bible and a document you edit in place: Sudowrite on its Muse model, or Novelcrafter with your own model key.
- Encrypted storage is your first requirement: NovelAI encrypts stories in the browser before they reach its servers.
- Your genre depends on non-consent: ErosWriter or River, for the reasons above.
- You write in short bursts a few times a month: River's pay-as-you-go plan may cost less than any subscription, ours included.
How to get a better scene out of an AI smut generator
Treat the first draft as a sketch. The most common complaint about AI erotica is sameness: the same verbs, the same pacing, the same ending beat. That comes from vague setup, and it is fixable in the prompt rather than the plan.
Give it specifics it cannot invent: what each character is nervous about, one physical detail about the room, the line of dialogue that tips things over, and the point of view. Ask for a length. Then revise in small instructions instead of regenerating, because rewriting a passage you already like keeps what works. When a scene lands, tell it so and say why; the memory carries that preference into the next one.
